Eric L. Register is a Founding Partner with
Register | Lett LLP, and he leads the firm’s Disputes Resolution and Litigation Practices. Eric has experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of areas, including personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, commercial disputes, entertainment, and employment discrimination.
His practice currently focuses on disputes among private individuals and businesses involving copyrights and trademark rights. He represents clients engaged in trademark opposition matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. His clients include authors, designers, photographers, Grammy Award-winning musicians, non-profit organizations, and other vibrant, creative individuals and entities. In describing his work, Eric prefers the term “dispute resolution” because it reflects a more proactive, innovative, and comprehensive approach to serving clients than “litigation” alone implies. The son of an Air Force officer, Eric was born in Tokyo, Japan, and grew up in Florida, California, and South Carolina. In 1993 he graduated with honors from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Eric then went directly to the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill, where he was an active member of the mock trial team and earned his Juris Doctor in 1996.
After sharpening his skills as a litigator and trial lawyer at highly reputable firms in Raleigh, North Carolina, and New Orleans, Louisiana, Eric returned to Atlanta to establish his practice. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia, North Carolina, and Louisiana.
When he is not working, Eric enjoys playing trumpet, photography, acting, and motorsports. He and his wife Kelly reside in the Metro Atlanta area with their son, Louis.
